Adat Hatikvah Messianic Synagogue
Illinois 200 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, IL 60015Details
Adat is a part of an international movement, called Messianic Judaism. Messianic Judaism is a congregational, restoration movement made up of Jews and non-Jews who embrace Yeshua (Jesus) as Messiah while simultaneously recognizing and retaining Jewish identity.
Adat employs a model of return (T’Shuvah Hosea 14:1, Joel 2) which affirms re-turning to the Jewish faith of our forefathers, a faith that looked forward to the hope of a redeemer Messiah. Our faith cannot be complete without this central tenet of messianism restored as a core value. The message of Yeshua our Messiah is consistent with the Tanach (Hebrew Bible) when God calls his people to return to himself, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. All throughout the New Covenant scriptures Yeshua calls Israel to return to God. We strive therefore to become fully devoted followers of Yeshua our Messiah and LORD.
At Adat Hatikvah you can expect to see sincere Jewish life and practice being lived out in agreement with the Jewish Scriptures (both the Tanach and New Covenant) after the model of Yeshua the Messiah. The celebration of Shabbat and the Festivals commanded in Torah are important parts of our community life as well as the weekly readings from the Torah and Haftarah cycle.
